Well this is my first post, and I will post a couple pictures of what it looked like to start with.  It has started to undergo a couple of minor upgrades.

First is what it looked like a couple of winters ago.

And during warmer times

Now for why it is undergoing this little transformation.  I took it to the track and made quite a few passes and really had some fun with it.  I was driving it for about a year back and forth to work, and on the way home from work one evening I hear this tap tap tap sound and then knock knock knock and it continued to get worse... (this was a matter of seconds time) and come to find out it had toasted the Oil Pump.  Well the problem with when guys get together to talk, sometimes things get out of hand.

First I was just going to take out the engine and freshen it up and replace the broken parts, and as I worked through it I decided it might need a little more work.  Just fix the weak spots, and I know it had a little trouble with the Transmission as it was not really quite right....

Well now I am in the process putting in a 4 link rear suspension, with a Ford 9" as there is going to be a little more power under the hood.  Doing this will require the car to be back halfed in my opinion

To be safest I thought why not put in a full 12 point cage and tub this car since the rear was already narrowed  Not done with  cage yet, but am making really good progress.

I have a full build thread on a couple of other sites, and as time permits, I would love to put the thread on here as well if anyone is interested.

The goals are for the following changes
406 Cu. motor
Full Roller motor
Dry Sump Oil System
Twin 88MM turbos
TH400 Trans
Narrowed Ford 9"
Accel Gen VII Computer
12 point cage

Goals are for the car to be somewhat streetable with the boost turned way down.
Pass Utah Smog
With boost turned up, make over 1000 HP
Make a pass at sub 10 seconds in Rocky Mountain Raceway

Large goals but that is what I am shooting for.

Feel free to contact me if there is anything special you want to see of the build

Excellent!!!

I like it when people build things the right way the first time.
That narrowed rear with the 4-link will hook after its tweaked...its just a matter of a power plant after that.
Seems you are building the correct power plant....

good luck!

Would anyone be interested in my full build with pictures post on here?  I have the cage alme ost complete, and the back half as well.  Going to be doing the wheel tubs, and sheetmetal work shortly.  This car is going to have a full interior and be as back to stock looking (well other than the big tires in the back) as possible.  OK it is going to have a few other minor changes to the outside, but they will be subtle.  The big differences will be under the hood, and in the drive train.

A small teaser, here is a picture of the Engine that will go into it.

Well in digging around an old site, I found the first pictures I first took of my Vette after I cleaned it.

And now the story of how I got it.  I had gotten a bonus at work, and the wife told me to go out and spend it on what ever I wanted.  I walked into a pawn shop, and I was going to inquire about an impact gun and sure enough this was parked in front of it.  I asked who owned it as the guy behind the counter was on the phone.  A customer said it was his and we started talking.  While I was out walking around his car with him (and his cell was blowing up) the guy comes out of the pawn shop and says he cannot loan the guy any more cash.  The guy says how am I going to make payroll now, and I could see this car in my driveway.  I worked him from $9000 down to $4500.00 and he brought it over to my house with the title.  I honestly thought it had grey carpet until I started cleaning it.  It was a large ashtray for him.  This car was discusting.  I took and steam cleaned it and washed it, and waxed it and drove it for a couple of months before we moved to Utah.  Well here in Utah it would not pass smog and I had to chase an EGR Control valve.  Got it liscened and drove it some.  The car had around 78000 miles on it but the trans was terrible.  I took the car to the track and raced 1/4 miles with it, and just drove it to and from work. I will post up pics of the build and what I am doing to it the next few days.  Then as I do more work off and on, I will post updates.  And then on the debut of the car, I will make sure to have video of it making its first few passes.  If there is something anyone wants more pictures of just let me know, as I will be more than happy to go further into anything I am doing.

An interesting project to say the least...!!!  Sounds like it will be quite the ride when you're all done with it.
