Hi All,
I have a 1986 Convertible Corvette. I want to change the tail lights to LED. But...it seems to be impossible to get to the tail lights. I can't seem to get my hand back there to take out the light assembly. Is there a chance anyone would know an easy way to take out the light assembly? I would really appreciate the help.
Thanks
Take the number plate off and you will be able to reach inside to the bulb holders
I tried that. but, couldn't get my arm back there. I'm changing the whole lens. So I need to get to the screws behind the light.
Thanks
I see now i changed one of my lenes from underneath by removing the stay that connects the the rear quarter
which allowed me the pull the bottom of the bumper out enough to get my arm in the change the lens

The stay? Where is that located?
Thanks
the stay in between the bottom of the rear quarter and the frame
I'll try that.
Thanks!
I am a big guy and I got my taillights out easily. You take off the license plate and get to the first inside light, there are 2 nuts to take off, I think they were around 8mm. They are located in the centers of each side. Take the bulb socket out and get it out of your way then you just have the lens to remove. Once you have the inside lights out, you can access the 2 outside lights easily thru the holes for the inside lights. Good luck!
