The forum is swelling with new members  Clap and the diversity of screen names makes one wonder...how did you pick yours?

Mine was pretty easy...used to go to dances as a teen, local DJ (Jerry Blavet) hung it on me when a record called JimmyMack came out ( for you youngsters, that was a song out of Motown back in the day...when your parents were dating LOL).   Fit my given name , so it has followed me for years.  Even my adult daughters call me by that name sometimes.

My last name is Adams, so mine is a bit of werd-play..... Years ago, I had a '58 MGA I was building as a race car. It had a small block Chevy in it, and a Corvette rear end. It was also red. While gudendrunk one night, I had a vision of what I wanted painted on the car, as far as a graphic, and it involved an apple. From that time forward, I have used "Adam's Apple" as my moniker on any red race car, and also as my screen name.

somewhere around 1990 i bought a used 1986 bronco 2. when i had the insurance put on it the agent said it was an eddie bauer edition and i started calling the truck eddie. i bought a bug shield for it and someone had eddie painted on it for my b-day. after that people started calling me eddie. when i first went on the internet and needed a user name i chose eddieand my house number. when i joined c3vr i used eddie208 plus the year of my vette. when i joined here i just changed the 75 to 90 as i own a 90 too.Thumbs Up

I got my screen name from my wife and kids.  They call me the Car Whisperer because I always seem to be able to fix their cars stubborn mechanical problems (for free of course).  The whisperer part is a bit of humor though.  I really don't whisper at the cars, I sometimes have to yell at them (the cars) with vocabulary that would not be deemed appropriate for this forum.

When I was in Hershey, Pa. for the Antique Car show about 1970, I designed a Jacket with an old square nut on it and the words OLD CAR NUT around it.  Seems that some else one had the screen name OLD CAR NUT so I had to change mine to HEXCARNUT1...   LOL
Tried to upload Pix of the jacket but got some kind of failure so no go.......

My wife and I are both into Corvettes, so the screen name was a natural. We each have our own Corvette (puls a "spare").

To Jimmymack - Jerry Blavat!!!  The Geator with the Heator!!  I haven't heard that name in a zillion years! Haven't lived in So. Jersey in a looooooong time and completely lost track of him.

VetteCpl....Glad to see that a former S. Jersey guy remembers. Cool
The Geator is still going strong, doing appearances 6 or 7 days a week, plus still has Memories in Margate (which my wife and I still frequent at least twice in the summer).  In fact, he was the MC  at the Kerbeck Toys for Tots run last year.   He does a shore gig at a different Casino's or a club in Somers Point every week in the summer (besides Memories), if you ever come back here for a visit, let me know I'll send you his schedule.
Here's one for ya...Keep on rockin cause you only rock once. LOL

I have spent a lifetime in the industrial automation components and systems biz and for years my license tag has read "AUTOM8R" so it was the first thing to come to mind and it stuck.

Not Scottish and don't play the pipes. Rebuilt and lived aboard a Mariner 31' ketch with twin wood masts (the pipes are dual reed instruments) and when the jib, staysail, main, mizzen staysail and mizzen were up she had lots of canvas that when filled with a warm breeze made music so I named her BAGPIPE. Sold her in '01 when I moved to PI but haven't changed my handle.Smile

My screen name is back from AOL days.

This maybe somewhat sacrilegious, but one of my favorite cars of all time is the Ferrari 308 GTB.  I've always wanted one, but, being an engineer, know what a PITA (and rather expensive) it would be to maintain.  Therefore, my screen name was my first name (Dave), my last name initial (N) and 308.

I've used DaveN308 on all but one forum and that was because there was a screw up with the account and it was easier to create a new screen name than to try to get it fixed.

When I bought my first Corvette (a 69 SB Coupe) and joined a forum I used something descriptive of that car like 69L46.  But when I added the 93 I figured the old name was too restrictive.  So...since I live in New Jersey and I intend to own at least one Corvette until I'm buried in it  I adopted jrzvette.

Tachout means to drive past the red line.  Back in High School I had a 77 Camaro with a inline 6.  I wanted to drop a big motor in it and .... well I am sure everyone on here understands what I wanted to do.  Well my dad offered up the cash to do what ever I wanted as long as I could convince my mom I wanted or needed to do it.  Well she told me that I did not need a new engine, and that the one in it was just find.  So dad says "Sounds to me like as long as that engine is in there you stuck"  I thought to my self stuck... I should leave it stuck in first for a bit and drive it till it blows up.... I might add here that that was one stout engine and really to this day still surprises me.  Everyone I rode with throught it was odd for me to drive it up into the RPMs until the valves floated, and then just step on the clutch and coast... From that time on I got the nickname.  Never did blow that engine up.

My first name is JONATHAN.  According to family legend, I was named after a Baptist preacher's son that mom had babysat while she was in high school.  Mom always described that kid as "meanest little !@#$%^&*() I ever babysat."

Someone at the fire station called me John one day and I went up their pants leg like a squirrel, "IT'S JONATHAN!!!!!!!!!!"

A couple of the jokesters then started calling me JonJon and the name stuck.
