Hahahaaa.... Yeppers.... Th' "60's" was kind to me... Not only that, but looking at old records I determined that she was an "81", not an "82"( no cross-fires" for me...). I blame it on the "Doobies" we shared over in Nam...;>))) "I had a Dream" Paul Revere and the Raiders

Nice looking car from the pic.  I really do like white C4s.  It's very attractive and hoping to see more pics.

Your signature line quotation - you have correctly noted that this quotation is often attributed to Ben Franklin, as he is not known to have said it. The word "lunch" didn't become commonly used in the language until the 1820s.  Having passed on in 1790, Franklin wouldn't have used that word.  There is nothing of the phrase to be found in any of his known writings, either.  The first sentence of the quote showed up in writing in 1992, so going by that, it's a rather recent quotation.  The second sentence was an even later tack-on, as it was not part of the 1992 statement.  I think that the Internet has widely increased the number of quotations of both Ben Franklin and Albert Einstein, along with a few others, as misattributions run amock on the Internet.  All that said, it doesn't mean I don't like the quote, it's simply been misattributed again and again.  Too bad, as it is a good one, and it would be nice if the originator could be properly determined and given credit.  Smile

Thank you Laurie for the "reply"...
That signature fits my attitude to "Life" perfectly. Times and/or circumstances may wear me down... but I "Always... have an Ace in th' Hole"... I can contest the negativity with a different attitude...

I wasn't wild about the color of the wheels at first, but their growing on me. Of course I'll leave her as stock as I can. Someone changed the radio, and I don't know what year they put in, but it works, and most people don't notice the difference. But I'm of an age that abhors radical alterations in a classical vehicle. Not to confuse classical with resto-mod, I like a neat body style that has been kitted with a modern supercharged engine and drive train, modern wiring and custom gauges. But that is something that I currently can't afford. It is difficult enough finding parts for this car. As an example, I needed a high pressure switch for the air conditioning. Two places left in the country that has one. Luckily, one of the places was a dealer in Nebraska where I didn't have to lay my billfold on the counter, step back and raise my hands when asking the price.
Anyhoo... I'm having fun getting her back in shape.

Wheels are definitely a matter of personal like, and a bit of an issue for me.  My 85 has the stock wheels.  They're okay, but there are other wheels available that I like much better.  However, I also like the idea of keeping my car stock.  So, they remain.  Who knows, though?  When she needs new tires, I may entertain the idea of different wheels, keeping the stock ones, of course.  Even though she's got a modern stereo, I have the original system all boxed up.  If I were to sell her, the original Bose would go with her.  But, I drive her a lot, and like the option of being able to play mp3 and CD music.  I wouldn't make a,ny changes that couldn't be easily put back to stock, though.

Laurie,

I love the pic ... My first Vette was an 84 C4 with the square tail, I love the newer more rounded style, while keeping the same C4 overall look, the more rounded tail makes it look much newer ....

So, with the old 84 C4 sold, I am in the market for a 96CE ....

Thanks for the pic it confirms what I am thinking.

Paul

I like the pic of the 84 . My first one was a crossfire also had a lot  of fun with it. Tried for 10 years to get more out of that motor on a limited budget. Did get  it up to about 230 HP that was it Now my 96 L T 4 is what  I really wanted. Welcome to the clubCool
