The lettering (Apply brake to shift from park) on the console of my Vette with automatic transmission was getting very hard to read, so I found a way to redo it so it is readable.  I used Lacquer-Stik (fill in paint) Paintstick by Markal.  This is an old one that I had laying around my photography equipment because I used it to renew the lettering on some of my old camera lens and filters.  The paintsticks are still available from Markal or I have seen them on Amazon.  It fills in the grooves of the lettering, then the top surface of the paint can be wiped off.  See picture.  I need to do a little better job of wiping it off.  There may be other ways of doing this but this is one that I came up with.

I used a paint stick (the ones they use to mark parts) to fill in the lettering on my tires. Provides a little more permanent job than grease pencils. While some want the plain black wall, a little colour going around can be interesting and you can use white, yellow or even red. Yellow on MT's begins to look like a "slick" but seems people like that look or they don't.

I was going to ask someone on the forum if there is a way to refurbish the lettering on the interior. I have an 94 and all the lettering is faded or gone on the interior. Thanks for posting and will try it the way you did it.
