NRG SRK-200BK-MC Steering Wheel Quick Release Kit
Figured Id post a brief how to with lots of pictures to make it easier for anyone wishing to do the same in the future.
Step 1. Ensure car is parked with the wheels facing perfectly forward.
For comparison purposes, view of new vice original wheels:
Step 2. Remove the airbag from the existing steering wheel by taking the two T27 screws out of the back and unplugging the air bag.
Step 3. Remove the existing steering wheel using an impact socket and then a steering wheel puller. Be sure not to damage the spring loaded/quick release horn connection. It is required for re-use. That horn connection (black wire) connects/disconnects to steering column by gently pushing it straight in and rotating it and then letting the spring push it back out.
Step 4. Remove the air bag clock assembly by removing the spring clip holding it on to the steering wheel shaft. Also, unplug airbag clock assembly from the bottom of the column (yellow connector behind the bottom dash panel to the right of the column). After the clock assembly is unplugged, cut the harness, but cut it with enough slack so a resistor can be soldered in later to clear the airbag idiot light. It is a yellow connector with two wires going into it...I forget the colors, I think one is green the other yellow, but don't remember. Its the same colors as the wires coming out of the clock assembly. Once harness is cut, it'll take some force, but pull the wires out of the column from the clock assembly side.
Step 5. Take the spring loaded horn connection cable assembly from the original wheel (cut the wire about midway for splicing in to the new steering wheel, the spring loaded part is required to connect horn to original steering wheel horn connection).
Step 6. Install the spring loaded horn connection and hub adapter. Use the impact socket to pull the hub adapter in. Ensure the white dot is at the 12 o'clock position. I crimped a quick disconnect lug on the end of the horn wire so it could easily be connected to the Momo horn wire (yellow wire).
Step 7. Connect the base of the quick release kit (two wires on quick release base, yellow wire connects to the old black horn wire, black wire connects to ground) to the hub adapter with 6 screws.
Step 8. Connect steering wheel side of quick release kit to the base then insert aluminum bushing and connect steering wheel to the quick release kit using 6 screws.
Step 9. Connect quick release kit black wire to Momo horn button and press horn button into place, enjoy the new steering wheel!

Very nice. I did a similar swap on my 96 coupe going with the NRG hub and one of their wheels.
But a couple comments: When the hub adapter was tightened to the steering shaft the forward edge of the adapter (forward = pointing ahead) was rubbing on the three thin plastic ridges seen inside the column cover. I had to cut roughly 2mm off of their face to clear the edge of the adapter.
The rim of my new wheel is further forward than the original and this slightly interferes with activation of the high-low beam switch. I’d consider adding the NRG 1/2” thick spacer to move the wheel closer to the driver.
Exactly what value resistor is required to satisfy the CCM and shut off the airbag warning light? I could simply pop the bulb out of the DIC but I want to try it the ‘scientific’ way first. Thanks!
In case anybody’s interested, a 2.2ohm resistor was good for satisfying the CCM and turning off the airbag warning light. I tried values directly higher (2.7ohm) and lower (1.8ohm) and the warning light stayed on. The resistor is a 1/2 watt “film type” and should have a stable enough resistance over a wide temperature range.
