(Ok, I've been a little forgetful about QODs! Here's one for you...)
If you had unlimited money and could buy any Corvette generation, (or restore one you already own), which would it be and why?
Well, if One was the option, it would be a 65' coupe in maroon. Like the body accents and ingress egress.
The optimum phrase is "unlimited money"...
C1 - a '61 or '62 with a 4 speed tranny
C2 - a split window coupe with a 4 speed tranny
C3 - a '70 LT-1 convertible (modified with a 5 or 6 speed tranny)
C4 - a '90 ZR-1 and a '96 Collectors Edition with a 6 speed tranny
C5 - a Z06
C6 - an '09 GT1 Championship Edition Z06 in BLACK
The jury is still out on the C7s, styling-wise for me anyway.
And I understand why they didn't put a manual tranny in the C8s but that's a deal breaker for me.

Definitely any C2. To be specific a ‘63 split window or a ‘67 427 either coupe or convertible.
A ‘90 ZR-1, first year and it has a lot of uniqueness to it.
Or a C6 ZR1. That car oozes all over especially the clear hood😋
My favorite generation is the C3. The coupe in particular. These cars have so much style and function. For example the hide a way headlights improved aerodynamics. The fender side louvers helped remove heat from inter the hood. The body lines continue from front to rear along the top of the car.
Sure wish they made them that way again. Designers today took away all the styling that made the Corvette what it was thru the years. Now it seems we change things to appeal to other countries and forgot about how American style stood for.
Save the wave and safe travels.
IF I part with my C4 I just have this thing about the C6!
I have a C4, and a C5, and a C7. I really like my C4 and C5, but I LOVE my C7! The technology in that car is fantastic! If I were going to “upgrade,” I wouldn’t stop at the C6, I’d find a nice C7 and enjoy it.
'67 427 convertible!

I’m right there with you on the C2 and C3! I didn’t like the C7 at first, but now I have one, and it’s my favorite Corvette (I have 3).
Have you driven a C8? I think you’ll find it an enjoyable drive, even with no “real” standard.
1962 C1 HODURAS MAROON 327ci 340hp, 4-spd, Red INTERIOR, BLK CONV TOP --- BECAUSE I LOVED THAT 2 YEAR BODY STYLE AND WANTED TO STEP UP FROM MY 1961 WITH THE 283ci ENGINE
C7 Coupe in green, kalahari interior, probably automatic. For travelling!
It is the '96 Collector Edition for me! Under rated in power and just looks sweet!! 😋

63 Split Window Coupe, upgrade to disk brakes and AC, in Black. I vividly remember, as a child, one of my Dad's racing buddies bringing his SWC to the raceshop. It was the most magnificent machine I had ever seen, in terms of automobiles. I still feel that way today. I just picked up a 1986, 28,000 original mile car. Beautiful in Medium Brown Metallic. I have owned C2s, C3s, C4s, and a C5. Looking forward to getting back in this C4.
Best,
Scott

The styling on the C7 is beginning to win me over. VERY edgy and "bad@$$" in the right color. IMHO the C8 styling is an extension of the C7. Both have a LOT of European influence. Have not had the opportunity to be in the cockpit of a C8 yet but understand they are quite the ride.

Ha, When the C5 came out, I said No Way! I now own a 2003. But the 7s & 8s. I don't know. It's getting tougher to accept the style. So far the 6s are as far as I'm willing to go. I would like to own the 13.
I own a 93 Annv. Coupe 58k love it. I can work on it plus I like the challenge when there’s a problem that I can usually fix. I also have a 12 C6 grand sport conv. Nice car but to many electrical parts that I cannot repair or service. So far so good but when equipment starts to fail it’s dealer only. Plus once they become to old dealer doesn’t want to work on them.
Hello, I'm with you on electronics. I'm a old wrench puller. The new "MECHANICS" do not Fix things, they Replace things. To much electronics today. Throw away parts are the norm. Wait for a ship from another country comes in and get a new one. Rebox it, and send it to the customer. Sad but true.
