Took the C4 to a car show a week ago and it must have really enjoyed it there because it didn't want to leave. So a fellow Club member offered to take me home and so I can grab my truck and trailer and tow it home. Turned out to be the VATS system. So here is a little work around I did and got it all corrected. I did a little creative wiring and still can use the security feature of the VATS system by manually shutting off the resistor with a hidden switch.
I like that idea! I've never had a problem with mine but everyone says I will eventually. I bought a pack of resisters (they're in the console) and I keep picturing myself upside down, in the dark, trying to rewire my ignition some night! Too many projects, not enough round tuits!
Lol...... I had previously read about VATS failure, but thought, it's not bothering, don't mess with it. It work flawlessly, until it stranded me.... at a car show no less. The thing that saved me was lots of guys from my Corvette Club were there and had been there and done that.( knew exactly what the issue was and where the wires were from the VATS circuit of the ignition switch). So, in short, I was lucky..... car was off the street, had a ride home to get truck and trailer.
