I have a 89 with the 17x9.5 wheels 275/40-17 tires all around. I am going to buy new tires and wondered if any one has put the 285/40-17 tires on all four corners. if so did you notice more wandering on uneven roads? different steering feel? The 285's look meatier and fill the wheel wells, they look great on the back of the 93-96. I would like to have all the tires the same size to rotate.

Our ZR-1 brothers run 285's on the front from the factory. I have two sets of ZR-1 saw blades (9.5 w/ 285 frt & 11.5 w/315 rear chromed) that I ran until I picked up  a set of Billet Specialties Fast Lanes (9.5 & 11's). OEM rear 9.5 have basically the same offset as OEM 8.5's since the backspacing compensates for the width. I didn't find any handling issues but they are heavier. Make no mistake though, you can't just bolt 11" wides under the back, they don't fit!

I've even been to Guilstrand seminars where there has been talk of 11" wides in all four corners although 11's have different offsets so I don't know if they would even clear the fender or turn all the way. Certainly no issues with 9.5's
